All prizes for this challenge are sponsored by Intuitive Surgical. The following prizes are available to all eligible teams:

First place: $6000

Second place: $3000

Third place: $2000

Best methodology report: $500

Since this year's challenge is a repeat of last year's challenge, only complete team submissions that perform better than the top performing method in category 2 of SurgToolLoc 2022 (https://surgtoolloc.grand-challenge.org/evaluation/category-2-surgical-tool-localization/leaderboard/) will be eligible for cash prizes. This is to encourage improvements of algorithms from last year submissions. We will re-evaluate last year's top 3 performing methods on the test set this year - the corresponding performance metrics will become visible to the teams on the challenge day when the results are announced.

For the best methodology report prize, the organizing team will make that decision based on:

  1. Explanation and details provided for the method within the report (following the format provided in submission instructions)
  2. Github repo documentation (the ease in reproducing the algorithm container submitted)

All submissions will be eligible for the best methodology report prize, regardless of whether they performed better than last year's top performing method

Internal Intuitive teams are not eligible for prizes.
